Join Milwaukee Mural Map creator Caitlin Sprague on a tour of Milwaukee’s history through murals along Jr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and North Avenue. On this medium-paced walking tour participants will learn about the history of the NAACP Milwaukee Commandos, the famed Inter City Arts Council, past and current black leaders in Milwaukee, the transformation of Victory of Violence Park, and much more. This tour is 3.25 miles and wheelchair accessible; however, it will take place primarily on city sidewalks and there is one hill on the route. The tour will meet in the parking lot of Rose Park between Chambers and Burleigh Streets off Dr. MLK Jr. Drive.
