Tours at the 9th St. Brewery will focus on the history of Milwaukee Brewing and the previously Pabst owned building they are operating in. Tour-goers will learn about our passion for crafting and creating beers using the best local ingredients and suppliers in a sustainable, creative and innovative environment. The tour is “Beer in Hand”, and samples are offered when you check in. We encourage questions and discussion, as the tour and sample guides are mostly brewery scoundrels and accomplished home brewers.
The building was originally known as Building 42 and was the last building the Pabst Brewing Company built on their 14-block campus. Pabst shuttered the campus abruptly in 1996, just 20 years after building the new distribution center. It has been vacant ever since. In 2016 Milwaukee Brewing announced their plans to open a new brewery, allowing it to more than double in capacity. Operations aren’t limited to just making beer. Plenty of beer is served in the tasting room and during tours.
