This building was constructed in 1927 for offices and retail space and was vacant for several years. JCP Construction and Uihlein/Wilson-Ramlow/Stein Architects, blended the historical character of the building with modern touches to create a state-of-the-art global headquarters with green space situated in the Harambee neighborhood.
The Bader Philanthropies Global Headquarters will spur conversation and creativity for generations to come. Visitors will hear stories about the neighborhood’s history, including the symbolic nature of the building. Tours will highlight the organization’s journey in learning about Harambee; and getting to know people who have lived in the neighborhood for decades, especially, their special memories.
